EU does not demand Ukraine to quickly repair Druzhba oil pipeline
The European Union does not demand Ukraine to restore the transit of Russian oil via the damaged Druzhba oil pipeline and sets no deadlines for its repair. Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, spokesperson for the European Commission, stated this in Brussels, writes "European Pravda".

According to the spokesperson, the EU maintains contact with the Ukrainian authorities to obtain information about possible restoration timelines, but does not pressure Kyiv or issue any ultimatums.
She emphasized that the context of the war is taken into account: for four years, Russia has used Ukrainian energy infrastructure and simultaneously systematically destroyed it.
Itkonen noted that Ukraine is making significant efforts to restore its energy system, including with the support of EU member states and the European Commission, to ensure heat supply to hospitals, residential buildings, and the operation of industry.
She also stated that the EU continues communication with the Ukrainian side and does not set any "deadlines" in this situation.
Earlier, Hungary announced the possibility of stopping electricity and gas supplies to Ukraine if Kyiv does not resume the operation of "Druzhba". In addition, Hungary and Slovakia accused Ukraine of not repairing the damaged sections of the pipeline. The transit of Russian oil to Slovakia and Hungary through the territory of Ukraine was stopped since the end of last month due to large-scale Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
