How long does it take to cross the border from Poland to Belarus before Christmas?

At midnight on December 24, six buses were waiting in line to exit Poland before the Terespol checkpoint. By morning, the queue had completely disappeared.

«Students from Poland have gone home to Belarus, so it's eased up. After January 7, the fun will begin in the opposite direction,» writes a user named Sergio in the border chat.

Crossing the border by bus from Poland to Belarus takes from 7.5 to 10.5 hours. Chat users note that most of the time is spent waiting on the territory of the Belarusian checkpoint, where luggage is carefully inspected.

«Now we've gone to the neutral zone, it's completely jammed. Everything is very slow on our side,» writes Alena. «They check everything manually, then they might send it to the scanner. Six people are working. They work fast, but there are a lot of people,» writes Denis.

At the "Bobrovniki — Berestovitsa" border crossing, there is also no bus queue for exiting Poland. According to passenger reports, crossing the border towards Belarus takes from 7 to 8.5 hours.

Hundreds of meters of queue

At "Terespol," there is a long queue of passenger cars. On the morning of December 24, it stretched for 850 meters, but by afternoon, it had shortened to approximately 300 meters (about 50 cars). Crossing the border towards Belarus takes approximately 14 hours, and at "Bobrovniki" and "Bruzgi" – 11-12 hours.

«The queue [at Terespol] practically didn't move because of people endlessly overtaking and cutting in without queuing. We observed this for an hour and a half and decided to go to the border at "Bobrovniki." That crossing is smaller than in Brest, so the throughput is also lower. It took us 12 hours to cross. During that time, not a single car overtook or cut in without queuing,» writes Marina.

Later, reports emerged that on December 24, "Brest" was faster. At "Bobrovniki," the queue for entry into Belarus stretched for 650 meters, gradually decreasing to half a kilometer. In the afternoon of December 24, there were 50-60 cars in the queue. The border can be crossed in approximately 12 hours. At "Kuznica," there were about 100 cars.

Border crossing to Poland is fast

There are no bus queues when exiting Belarus to Poland. Travelers write in chats that crossing the border via "Brest" takes from 3 to 5 hours, and it takes approximately the same amount of time to cross via other checkpoints.

Crossing the border by passenger car via "Brest" takes 1.5-2 hours. Via "Bruzgi," one can drive through even faster: one user of a border chat wrote that they crossed the border in just half an hour.
