Zelenskyy: Ukraine wants security guarantees from the USA for 30-50 years, Trump promised to consider it
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is interested in long-term security guarantees from the United States — for 30, 40, or even 50 years. He spoke about this during an online conversation with journalists while returning from the USA to Europe, reports "European Pravda".

According to Zelenskyy, it was confirmed during yesterday's negotiations with US President Donald Trump that Ukraine would receive strong security guarantees from Washington. However, these are currently enshrined in documents for 15 years with the possibility of further extension.
Zelenskyy noted that he raised this issue directly with Trump, emphasizing that the war in Ukraine has already lasted almost 15 years, and therefore the country needs much longer-term security commitments.
He stated that Ukraine would like to consider the option of guarantees for a period of 30-50 years, which could become a historic decision for the US president.
According to Zelenskyy, Donald Trump replied that he would take this proposal into consideration.
It is also reported that French President Emmanuel Macron announced a meeting of the countries of the so-called "coalition of the willing," which is scheduled to take place in early January in Paris. At this meeting, they plan to finalize the contribution of each state to the system of security guarantees for Ukraine.
On December 28, Zelenskyy and Trump held a meeting in Florida, where they discussed peace initiatives. Trump immediately stated that after the conversation with the Ukrainian leader, he plans to call Vladimir Putin.
