The White House deleted Trump's video showing the Obamas as monkeys, but the US president refused to apologize
Donald Trump found himself at the center of a scandal after publishing a video on his Truth Social page, in which Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama were depicted as dancing monkeys.

The video sparked accusations of racism. Despite this, Trump stated that he made no mistake and refused to apologize. The White House initially called the reaction "manufactured outrage", but later deleted the post, explaining it as a "staff error", Bild reports.
The administration claimed that the clip was a fragment of an old video — a parody of "The Lion King", in which Trump is depicted as the "king of the jungle", and Democrats as other animals. However, criticism also came from Republicans.
"I pray this is a fake, because this is the most racist thing I have ever seen from the White House," stated the sole black Republican Senator Tim Scott.

The current scandal recalled Trump's long-standing conflict with Obama. After the Democrat's victory in the 2008 elections, Trump became one of the key figures of the movement, which claimed that Obama was allegedly born in Kenya and was not eligible to hold the office of US president.
