Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Dies in Tehran During Strikes
Iranian news agency ILNA reported that the former Iranian president died as a result of a strike by Israel and the US on the Tehran district of Narmak, where he lived.

The report claims that his bodyguards also died along with Ahmadinejad.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was the sixth president of Iran (2005—2013). Prior to his presidency, he held leadership positions in the state system and served as the mayor of Tehran. His presidency was marked by strong foreign policy rhetoric and conflicts surrounding Iran's nuclear program.
Earlier, Iran officially confirmed the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a result of strikes by Israel and the US and declared 40 days of mourning (and 7 days of official holidays) and promised a response to the US and Israel.
