Tunnels under the Polish border fence from the Belarusian side are being dug by Kurdish migrants. This was stated on RMF FM by Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Marcin Kierwiński, writes Reform.news.
According to him, the reward for those participating in the tunnel construction is the right to be the first to pass through it. It should be noted that yesterday Kierwiński's deputy mentioned migrants from Syria participating in digging tunnels.
"Belarusian services bring many Kurds. These were Kurds. I don't know if all these tunnels were dug by Kurds, because this is already the fourth tunnel. Migrants from Kurdistan are participating in this, digging tunnels. As far as we know unofficially, they have certain preferences when it comes to – if they participate in digging such a tunnel – preferences to be the first to pass through this tunnel in the queue of Belarusian services," he said.
According to the minister, the tunnel looks very professionally made. Kierwiński believes that Belarusian services have become convinced of the effectiveness of the barrier and are now looking for new methods.
Nevertheless, he is confident that the Polish side will also be effective in detecting tunnels. He added that out of approximately 180 migrants who passed through the tunnel on Friday, more than 140 were detained.
"This working model remains unchanged. That is, these are illegal immigrants, delivered to Russia or Belarus by services, Russian or Belarusian. Nothing changes here. More than 90% are young, healthy men, who, so to speak, are provided with services by Russian or Belarusian services, providing all the necessary tools, location, and conditions for their work," he said.
