Lukashenka said that Belarus was included in the negotiation process on Ukraine
The politician is confident that the conflict in Ukraine, like all others, will sooner or later end in peace. He stated this in an interview with the American television company Newsmax, writes BelTA.

"Any war ends in peace. Classic. And this war will end in peace. The sooner, the fewer people will die. I often say, man-to-man: you know, well, he died and he died, but how many crippled people return from this war! What to do with them? Without legs, without arms," he said.
Lukashenka noted that if the issue of a peaceful settlement depended only on US President Donald Trump, then given his current policy, the war would have ended long ago. But this is a multilateral process.
"There are still two sides to the conflict here — Russia and Ukraine. Well, and we were also included there — Belarus. We border this conflict, and we are also not indifferent to how events will unfold there and how it will end. And Trump alone will not resolve this issue," Lukashenka stated.
He recounted that already in a phone conversation with Donald Trump before his meeting with the Russian president in Alaska this August, he warned: one must prepare for hard work, as this problem cannot be solved with a quick attack.
"I then advised him to make every possible effort to agree with Russia on ending the war," he said.
Lukashenka considers it important to "freeze this conflict from beginning to end" — to stop military clashes so that Russia would not be wary that this time might simply be used for rearming Ukraine:
"To ensure that no one is wary that we have stopped the conflict (in the period when Russia is winning, which is indeed the case)... To prevent Russia from being wary in this regard, everything must be done so that Ukraine and its army are not rearmed during this time, so that Americans do not supply weapons there along with Europeans."
In this context, he recalled the "hypocritical position of European politicians" when peace agreements on Ukraine were reached in Minsk in 2015.
"If the Europeans had not taken a foolish stance then... And they wanted to ensure that Ukrainians, as Angela Merkel later stated, had time to rearm and repel Russia. It turns out they didn't come here to agree on peace, but on a future war," the President said. "An agreement was then concluded. The intermediaries, one might say, were the Europeans — Germany and France. What did it lead to? Nothing. I then suggested that Americans should be included in this endeavor; without America, there will be no peace there. If the agreements reached here in Minsk had been implemented then, there would have been no war."
Alexander Lukashenka is convinced that if Donald Trump had led the US at that time and pursued his current policy, he would not have remained on the sidelines, and war would most likely have been avoided.
Reflecting on how the conflicting parties can achieve peace under current conditions, Alexander Lukashenka suggested that the evolving situation around them would push towards it.
For example, he did not rule out that escalation could lead to mobilization in Russia.
"Will this be good for Russia? It will not be good," the head of state noted. "Well, do Russians like that there's a war going on? Of course not."
"There must be guarantees. Russia wants guarantees that this will be forever. I know this. Russia wants to conclude such a peace treaty so that war never starts again. Ukraine is also interested in this. Trump is ready to act as a guarantor of this. Everything is there. Therefore, we need to speed up," Lukashenka said.
