Sabalenka Named World's Best Tennis Player for Second Consecutive Year
The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) announced the winners of the annual WTA Awards. Each year, the best in various categories — player, coach, tournament of the year, and an individual with a special contribution to the development of tennis — are determined by a vote of international media journalists.

For the second consecutive year, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka received the title of the world's best tennis player. In the voting, she surpassed Poland's Iga Świątek, Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan, Americans Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, and Coco Gauff, garnering over 80% of the votes.
The WTA highlighted that last season Sabalenka played in nine finals, won four titles, and achieved 63 victories. Furthermore, she set a new record for prize money in a season — over 15 million dollars.
Aryna spent the entire year at the top of the WTA world rankings. In her career, she has already won 21 association tournaments in singles. Sabalenka also won the Australian Open twice (in 2023 and 2024) and the US Open twice (in 2024 and 2025).
