Woman threatened to set herself and house on fire after an argument with her husband
A resident of the village of Semenavichy contacted the police, stating that her cohabitant was threatening her with murder.
When the police arrived at the scene, the situation turned out to be completely different, writes the local publication zorkanews.by.
The couple had been drinking the previous evening. A conflict arose between them, after which the man left the house. Left alone, the woman locked herself inside and, after midnight, called the police, stating that she intended to set the house and herself on fire.
Police officers had to act quickly: they broke a window and entered. The sofa in the room was already burning, and the kitchen was filled with smoke — a towel was lying in the oven of the gas stove, which was turned on full blast.
The woman herself was not in the house — she had gone outside. Later, she explained her actions by alcohol intoxication and emotional stress caused by problems at work and the loss of her children.
"I drank too much," the woman explained.
According to her, she had no intention of harming herself or others.
During the investigation, the threats from the cohabitant were not confirmed. The woman was brought to administrative responsibility for making a false report.
Both participants in the incident were also punished for appearing in a public place while intoxicated.
