Lukashenka stated that Maduro has never been an enemy or opponent of Belarus. According to him, if the Venezuelan leader himself wished to come to Belarus, there would be no obstacles for him here. However, at the same time, such a question has allegedly never arisen and no discussions about it have been held.
According to Lukashenka, Maduro is not the kind of person who is capable of abandoning everything and fleeing. He is, supposedly, a strong, principled, and balanced person, a follower of Hugo Chavez's ideas, with whom one can conduct dialogue and reach agreements.
Lukashenka also categorically denied rumors about alleged agreements regarding Maduro's relocation to Belarus. According to him, he never discussed Maduro's possible resignation with him.
At the same time, he added that Venezuelan issues are more often raised in conversations with the American side, and called Maduro himself a "heroic man".
