Putin proposed taking a billion for Russia's membership in the Peace Council from frozen assets
Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council.

Putin thanked the American side for the initiative and informed that all received proposals had been forwarded to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for consideration. According to him, the final decision regarding participation in the work of the Peace Council will be made later, as consultations with strategic partners are still needed.
At the same time, Putin stated that Russia is ready to contribute one billion dollars from the funds currently frozen in the United States to the future Peace Council.
