The philosopher and former political prisoner advises everyone to use Tsikhanouskaya's symbolic capital to achieve a common goal.

Philosopher Uladzimir Matskevich drew fire. He sharply criticized those who discredit Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, and admitted that he is fascinated by her as a unique phenomenon.
“Save what I’m about to write now. To your memories! As they said at the dawn of the internet. Or make a note of it! As teachers used to tell slow students in those days when they weren't treated with kid gloves.
Tsikhanouskaya cannot be removed, replaced, or re-elected.
It's impossible — that's all. Not because I'm in love with her (though I am indeed fascinated by her), not because Franak Viachorka or anyone else desperately needs her.
But because she became Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya as a result of a unique and unrepeatable event. This cannot be repeated, and most importantly — it shouldn't be. Therefore, no one can take her place.
Don't torment yourselves, don't do what is IMPOSSIBLE.
Instead, think about how to make use of this unique phenomenon. To use it for peaceful purposes, to achieve our common goal. Because for now, the enormous symbolic capital (by the way, not her personal capital, but our common one) of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is being squandered. And it's rapidly melting away. Like a parental inheritance squandered by spoiled heirs.
And all those who foolishly criticize and discredit Tsikhanouskaya — these are precisely those squanderers.

Philosopher and methodologist Uladzimir Matskevich was arrested by the KGB in August 2021. In June 2022, the Minsk Regional Court sentenced him to five years in a penal colony for participating in protests, creating an “extremist formation,” and “insulting Lukashenka.” In September 2025, he was released and deported to Lithuania.
