Widow from India says she got into trouble in Belarus and is being held in some cowshed
The woman cannot return to her homeland.

A woman from Gujarat was looking for work abroad. She found herself trapped in Belarus after being defrauded by an agent, which she reported to Divya Bhaskar.
Meena Joshi said she was sent to Belarus with the promise of fruit packaging work and a monthly salary of 70,000 to 80,000 rupees (2200-2500 rubles). However, according to her, she received neither the promised work nor the salary. Now she wants to return to India but has no money to buy a return ticket.
“I am a widow and came to Belarus by taking a loan. We were accommodated in a cowshed. We are being held 350-400 kilometers from Minsk. Many people are trapped here,” she said.
The woman accused agents from India of also taking a lot of money from her for coming to Belarus. However, she received neither the work nor the salary she was promised. She worked for about a week and is barely making ends meet.
“I have no money to return to India. I was cheated. My three sons are in India; I left them alone and came here. My husband is not with me. I want to return to India,” she said.
