Marina Avitan, daughter of former Babruisk journalist Uladzimir User (Lazarau), announced on Facebook what her father died from. Until now, she insisted on "the necessity of strict confidentiality" and deliberately did not provide any information to the public, but after Anatol Voitsekhouski, User's former apartment neighbor in Bialystok, spoke on BT (Belarusian Television), she broke her silence.

Uladzimir User
«There were no signs of beatings. My father did not die as a result of violence.
The cause of death has been officially established and documented: a severe form of chronic diabetes mellitus, insulin coma, as well as serious cardiovascular diseases, which also had a genetic nature.
The entire process of his detention was under the control of emergency medical services, which were present on site and carried out the necessary medical supervision in accordance with established procedures,» — the woman emphasizes.
She also assessed Anatol Voitsekhouski's actions:
«All statements and versions spread by Anatol Voitsekhouski are deliberate lies and manipulation and have nothing to do with reality. Their goal is obvious — to discredit the state that accepted my father and granted him political protection, and also to create an informational cover to attempt to justify someone's return to the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Before whom and for what purpose such "justification" is required remains an open question».
Marina Avitan says that Voitsekhouski, living with User, had access to his bank card, personal computer, phone, and personal belongings, and also knew the exact balance of funds on his card. Combined with the fact that he took User's personal documents outside of Poland, this, in the woman's opinion, «indicates the presence of his own, far from unselfish interests».
«I would seriously wonder why Mr. Anatol is so persistently trying to obtain information about my father, about his body, and all the circumstances of what happened. Against this backdrop, such activity looks not like concern, but an an attempt to create the informational noise he desires,» she states.
Recall that in November 2025, eight armed people in bulletproof vests — Polish special services — broke into the apartment in Bialystok where Voitsekhouski lived with 69-year-old Babruisk resident Uladzimir User (Lazarau). The apartment was searched, and Lazarau was taken away on suspicion of espionage. In early December, it became known about the death of 70-year-old User, who ultimately was not taken into custody due to his serious health condition.
Before the espionage story, both neighbors got involved in a propaganda film by BT. At the behest of propagandists, who introduced themselves as activists from Vilnius wanting to help those struggling in emigration with financing, Voitsekhouski and User recorded a video in which they spoke about all the downsides of living abroad.
Anatol Voitsekhouski disappeared from public view shortly after User's death, and on January 12, he appeared in a propaganda video on state television. The video claimed that before his death, User had allegedly written an application to a special commission for return, but died without ever receiving a response.
