InformNapalm asks GUR to exchange detained spy Kardash for journalist Dzianis Ivashyn
The international volunteer community InformNapalm has put forward an exchange initiative: they propose to transfer Ina Kardash, detained for espionage, to Minsk in exchange for the release of political prisoner Dzianis Ivashyn.
The corresponding appeal has been sent to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and other structures involved in prisoner exchange issues.
«If this Belarusian spy is planned to be exchanged, we ask to consider the option of exchanging her for journalist Dzianis Ivashyn. We remind you that since 2021, Dzianis Ivashyn, the chief editor of the Belarusian edition of InformNapalm, has been imprisoned by the Lukashenka regime, sentenced to 13 years in a reinforced regime colony for journalistic publications about former "Berkut" employees who defected to Lukashenka's service," — wrote the founder of the InformNapalm volunteer community and chief editor Raman Burko.
Information about the detention of Ina Kardash in Kyiv appeared on January 27. Ukrainian special services stated that the journalist had been engaged in espionage for the benefit of the Belarusian authorities since 2015.
Dzianis Ivashyn, former head of the Belarusian edition of InformNapalm, has been behind bars since March 2021. He was sentenced to 13 years and 1 month in a penal colony on charges of "treason to the state."
