In Smarhon district, a drunk man put his teenage son behind the wheel, who then got into an accident
A 15-year-old boy was driving his drunk father home and got into a road accident. As a result, the court sentenced the man to two and a half years of restricted freedom with referral to an open-type correctional facility ("khimiya"), reports the Hrodna Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the Hrodna Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of Smarhon district, being in an intoxicated state, allowed his underage son to get behind the wheel. Two other intoxicated acquaintances were also in the car as passengers. The incident occurred in August 2025.
On a gravel road, the teenager lost control: the car drove into a ditch and crashed into trees. As a result of the accident, one of the passengers sustained severe bodily injuries.
A criminal case was initiated against the driver's father for allowing a person without a driver's license to operate a vehicle, which led to serious consequences.
The court deprived the man of his driving license for five years and sentenced him to 2.5 years of "khimiya". The verdict was appealed, but the higher court upheld it without changes.
