Belarus entered the top five largest suppliers of chicken feet to China
According to last year's results, Belarus entered the top five largest suppliers of chicken feet to the Chinese market. The country took fifth place, yielding only to Russia, Brazil, Thailand, and the USA, reports the Russian publication "Vedomosti" with reference to data from the General Administration of Customs of China.

According to statistics, Belarusian producers supplied chicken feet to the PRC worth approximately 33 million dollars.
Russia became the leader in the export of this product, sending almost 327 million dollars worth of chicken feet to China. Also in the top five, surpassing Belarus, were Brazil (326 million dollars), Thailand (219 million), and the USA (69 million).
In Chinese culinary tradition, chicken feet are considered a delicacy. They are prepared in many ways: deep-fried, steamed, braised in black bean sauce, or marinated in rice vinegar with ginger. They are served as a beer snack, a cold dish, added to soups, or made into a main course. Ready-to-eat vacuum-packed chicken feet are a popular snack in supermarkets, and specialized eateries focus on their preparation alongside other delicacies, such as duck feet.
Earlier, the Belarusian Investigative Center reported that in 2024 Belarus allegedly lost access to the Chinese poultry market, estimated at billions of dollars. The reason was a re-export scheme — when foreign chicken feet were brought into the country, repackaged as Belarusian, and sold to China. This led to a major scandal and a complete ban on imports from most Belarusian poultry farms. However, as statistics show, this problem, if it existed, was quickly resolved.
