During her visit to the shelter, democratic forces leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with its founder, former political prisoner and co-founder of the "Prytulyay Miane" (Shelter Me) foundation Hanna Fedaronak. At the meeting, they discussed the shelter's greatest needs and how its continued operation can be supported. Former political prisoners shared their stories and recounted the conditions they endured behind bars, according to the politician's press service.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's team handed over essential household items to the shelter.

"It is very important that people who have gone through prisons are not left alone once they are free. After imprisonment, they need not only security but also human support, understanding, time, and space to regain strength and start a new stage of life. Thank you to everyone who creates and supports the shelter. Your work gives hope and helps people feel that they are not alone on the path to recovery," said Tsikhanouskaya.

The Belarusian shelter in Warsaw is a temporary safe space for people who have been released from prisons and are forced to start life anew. Here they can receive housing for two months, essential items, and basic food assistance.
