Lithuania recognized last year that 1634 citizens of Belarus pose a threat to national security. This is almost three times more than in 2024, when 598 such decisions were made, writes Delfi.lt.

Last year, the Migration Department did not issue a temporary residence permit in Lithuania to 391 citizens of Belarus upon their initial application and did not extend permits for 1023 individuals after the document's expiry.
At the initiative of the Migration Department, 214 issued and at that time valid temporary residence permits in Lithuania, issued to citizens of Belarus, were also revoked. Additionally, the department refused to issue a permanent residence permit to one Belarusian, and for five, such documents were revoked.
In 2025, 87 citizens of Russia were also recognized as a threat to state security. This is less than last year, when 125 such decisions were made.
